This page is under active development and will be updated as the usage of the new communications platform is worked out.
This platform has a site and shared drive restricted to access by KanREN-owned accounts. Outside accounts cannot access these resources. All of the sites have easy-to-remember addresses which redirect to https secure sites.
We have created several mailing lists to help facilitate communications. Each list comes in two flavors: normal and "open." The open lists include non-KanREN-owned email addresses and provide for easier communication on a day-to-day basis for non-sensitive material. However, open lists are MODERATED by default. The committee chairperson for each committee list is the moderator of that committee's open list (by default). For the board-wide lists, the executive committee are all set as moderators. These settings can be changed, but this is how it was set up as a base line.
All users of this platform are strongly discouraged from connecting your non-KanREN accounts to the new accounts in any way that would result in KanREN's confidential corporate data being automatically transmitted outside of the corporate accounts. This includes, for example, setting up automatic forwarding or using the remote POP3/IMAP imports available on many platforms. It will be up to the board to adopt any necessary policies surrounding such practices.

- This includes legacy files from the old board sites and shared folders. It has a mix of read-only and read-write permissions on the contents.
